Thought you had org 260?
Yes, original 260.. which is already sounding like it will break anyday now. :D I've got drivetrain #2 underway. Everything will change except rear axle.

What is the new setup then? What drivetrain can handle the largest amount of torque?

I think that basicly everything from e34 525ix -> is pretty solid. I think 525ix's weakest point is the gearbox which is s5d 320z (same as e36 m3).

I will be using E70 X5 front diff, E92 335xi gearbox (gs6-53bz) and E70 X5M transfercase.

Front diff and transfer case are designed to take almost 700nm in 2000kg car.. gearbox is designed for 530nm. Those parts are huge... and I mean huge. :D It's gonna be a challenge to get everyhing to fit inside e30 shell. From the first mock up it seems that front driveshaft is going through the gas pedal, transfer case is inside the drivers seat, front diff is hitting basicly everything, front cv shafts will be too short etc etc etc. But with a "little" work it seems that it might be possible...

I'm also thinking of changing the engine to s50b32 or s54b32.. any ideas of pro's and con's of those engines ?

Couple 10,77s 1/4 mile runs:

Track wasn't as good as before so no chances to break into 9's.

I would love to see some pictures of the mock up process to get an idea of how it will fit.

We BMW guys needs to figure out an E30 4x4 formula to finally smoke the Audi yuppis both winter and summer. I salvaged a complete E34 525iX and my plan is to transplant the front subframe and driveline into the E30 and short the front axles to fit the wideness. Probably 330Xi would be a better choice for a E30?

1076hp/958nm. Boost nmax 1,8bar (6800rpm), pmax 2,4bar (8000rpm), revlimit 2,75bar (9000rpm). Still lot more to come, but tires melted to dyno rollers. :?
