regarding the mods on the m20b25 it depends on how much your budget is, and how many hp your goal is..

For example, for "around" hp you dont have to do anything with the engine internally, of course its better to do it if you have the budget for it, but if you dont you can wait with the internal mods until you have the money for it and at the first stage just buy the turboparts (turbo, turbomanifold etc)..

you can also find a "stage 1" kit there as well..

Stage 2 would be with mods to the engine internally, mainly lowering the compression ratio.. theres many ways of doing that, you can get a thicker headgasket, take of some material in the cumbustion chhamber in hte head, take of some material on the original pistons, getting other pistons etc..

then you should get other headbolts, complete renovation of the engine etc..

to much to write down :wink:.. start of with reading the link I gave you.. it´ll help alot.. if theres something your not sure about, just ask :wink:..

200hp is NO problem at all :)

If you mean 200hp with turbocharging there`s noooo problem :wink:..

Heres a setup you can use to get lots more than 200hp :wink:..

* turbomanifold
* turbo of your choise, for ex t04/t3 which would be pretty easy and cheap to get over there :wink:
* wastegate if the turbo doesnt have an internal one
* intercooler
* bigger injectors, for ex 350-400cc/min, you can get it from other cars or buy new ones, up to ypu to look and find :wink:
* blow of valve
* airmass meter from a bmw 535i
* a progressive fuelregulator
* bigger exhaustsytem 2.5"-3"

with around 0.5bar/7psi of boost you should have aproximatelly 250hp, and this is no problem for the engine to handle for a long time..

if you have the budget, get a bigger fuelpump aswell lower the comp.ratio and and boost some more :twisted:..

many of these parts can be replaced or done differently, this is just a way you can do it with a very low budget..

yes, if youre goal is about 200hp it does work perfectly with original ecu. If you want a pressure abowe 0.8bar (more effect :lol: ) I would recommend you to lowering the compression and buy an autronic or something similar. If you do that, you can easliy run safe with 350-400hp.

It´s the airflowmeter from 535 e34 you shall use to fit the electric from m20b25.

its the AFM like kalle said...
and then u get the electrics from your org AFM on the m20b25.. this way you fool the org ECU with the org m20b25 electrics but you have the bigger AFM from the 535 :wink:.. the electrics is placed in the AFM, so dont go berserk on the org ECU :wink: 8)...

anyways.. then you can place the AFM before the turbo or after.. people have done both ways.. for some it works better to have it on the suction side (before turbo), for some on the pressure side (after turbo)..
its here you have to lab with fuelpressure, settings in the AFM (you open the lid and thighten or losen) etc..

this is a verrry lowbudget way to turbocharge the engine, its work but you wont for example have a good fueleconomy etc... not that it might matter :twisted:, but still...
the best way to do it is with a new ECU where you can programme the spark and fuel.. but then its not that chap anymore :)
