I'm a little bit excited because I should get this car on track next year!! :P Lots of work to be done, lots of hours at the garage..

I installed top mounts to the chassis right after christmas:
Image

After that I started to build the rear axle, parts fitted to the jig:
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x281 ... f3e87a.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Things seems to fit, but it's a little tight there:
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x281 ... dd5a91.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Today I continued with the differential cradle, 90% done:

Tackar!

Differential/carrier mountings done, I'll put a 25mm aluminium spacer/bushing between chassis and carrier:

http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x281 ... 897417.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Jig for the rear trailing arm for welding camber and toe adjustment parts:

I should also get these from machining, carrier big ends:

Time for a sunday update :)

A few new ideas which I decided to fulfil:
Image

Earlier I though to arrange parts this way, but seems there's no enough room for the radiator:
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x281 ... 84aa0b.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

So I started to create mounts for the front end parts:
Image

Mounting points:
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x281 ... e71943.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Hood with a figure to show where radiator hot air comes out:
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x281 ... 77e806.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Pipes welded together:
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x281 ... dcb427.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I also welded a sidemount turbo manifold and V-band outlet for my friend's Mazda Miata:

Lite har hänt igen... :P

I got this order from my friend a while ago, including rear trailing arm adjusting parts, rear axle carrier big ends and rear upper spring plates. 25 row oil cooler beneath:
Image

Coilover assembly:
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x281 ... 2a1f76.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

This weekend I built rear trailing arms ready, first I fitted parts to the jig, then made sure it sits in the rear axle carrier:
Image

Welding:
Image
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x281 ... e3474e.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Next thing is to modify mounting points of the carrier, including roll center correction etc..

Tack så mkt! Hoppas jag får den klar till 2015 säsongen :D

Recently I modified the axle carrier mounting points to meet the modified trailing arms:
Image

Carrier is now almost finished, only a pair of extra fastening to the chassis needed..

Today I played a little with TIG AC mode, changed the oil filler cap location:
Image
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x281 ... b82129.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It's a strange alloy or maybe it has sucked oil in itself by time, here's another try with pure alu plate:

It's been a busy summer and no time with the car, but now we've got lot's of motivation to continue :) I did some planning for the next summer and decided to use STD M30 bottom end with low boost. Found a cheap one, cylinder head still missing..
Image

We also did some research of blow-off valves or dump valves and noticed cheap ones had serious quality problems and those well known brands cost a million.
I spent days modelling our own product which finally became even lighter and more compact compared to similar valve! And the price tag should be no problem for anyone looking for a dump valve :)
Yesterday we started machining the first prototypes (raw version) for testing, let us know what do you think!

Thanks volvobrage! :)

Today I had a feeling, that I must continue with the project..
I dig the front piece from the garage and finished mountings for the oil cooler and radiator. Bottom of the radiator will lay on two rubber pads.
Image

Welded upper mounts:
Image

Earlier I started to fit the brake calipers, finally made them fit "deep" enough, needed some more cutting of the king-pins.. 17in wheels will be no problem I think :) RF centres needed a 20mm spacer:

Fint projekt, du är inte rädd för att kylaren/oljekylarn blir för låg? Som det ser ut kommer det vara 2cm från marken =)

Dom är några centimeter högre än framvagnsbalk eller stötfångare, så är det ingen problem :)

Rear brakes only need adapter plates to fit, measured all critical dimensions today. RF wheel centre might fit even without spacer:
Image

Adapter will be made of aluminium and it has threaded holes:
Image

We also tried DIY anodizing in our dump valve:

Here's a picture of front king pin modifications:
Image

Yesterday I got my rear brake adapters and I anodized them dark grey:
Image

I'm planning to buy Ferodo DS2500 brake pads, haven't heard any good about EBC (though I have a set of greenstuff in my bicycle :D).. Any other suggestions about pads?

Finally after anodizing our dump valve got laser engraved texts in it's cap:
