Hello,
First of all I`m sorry for posting in english and I`m not quite sure that this is the correct section to post.
About the engine:
M50B20 Engine Block
M51D25 Diesel Crankshaft 82.8mm
M50B25 non vanos connecting rods - 135mm
M50B20 vanos Mahle pistons
Turbo - TD05-16G from Mitsubishi Evolution
All this should give me compression ratio 9.44:1 or 9.7:1 depending on the head gasket
There are two types of original head gaskets - 1.7mm and 2mm
I`m planning to run this engine on 0.8 bar
Do you think that the compression ratio is too high, and do you think that I can use 2mm head gasket without blowing it.
Every opinion is usefull and also I want to thank you for your answers because I really believe that you know how to Turbo
If you are interested in this Project I`ll keep you updated.
Kind Reguards,
Ivan Petrov

What fuel? And i would start with a B25 block for even more displacement.

M50 764whp @ 1.7 bar.

Re: M50B20 -> 2.5 + Turbo?
100 octane gas, or in the worst case 98 octane gas.
I choose B20 block because they are very easy to find here and the whole engine coasts almost nothing In case something goes wrong I can always find parts and rebuild it. Even though my first priority is to build reliable engine for daily driver and track/drift experience. So do you think that it will handle 08 boost at 9.44 - 9.7 compression ratio
Thanks,
Ivan Petrov

Thanks, I found very similar configuration done in Poland, here is the link -> http://turbobmw.pl/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2659" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Their engine is with 0.5mm plate and two head gaskets, also I`m not sure if they have correct measures about the compression ratio.
