How much psi are you going to boost? Are you going to do some other changes inside of the engine except for a head gasket and ARP studs? When we were turbo charging my euro M3 S50B30 we tried to put GT3582R on down-mounted exhaust manifold. It didn’t work, because the turbo was too low and we had problems with oil drain line. The turbo exhaust manifold was custom, not bought as yours. We were trying to do similar one as spa manifold is. Must you do any modifications to fit spa manifold and GT30 (I mean a supporting bracket, etc.)? What fuel pump and fuel pressure regulator are you going to use? I use stock fuel pump and FPR so far. My boost is equal to 6 psi.
I don’t want to dirty your project thread, but if you want me to send you some pictures of my turbocharged M3 I will do it via PM.
Good luck!
Hey Maleckis!
The problem you are describing i belive is caused when puting the turbo below the engine bracket..? , if use custom engine bracket u will get the turbo in good place over the oillevel..and the oildrain will work just fine, i think for ex PPF use a type of oilpump when putting it lower?! , i belive i saw this in some project here.
The turbo we have bolts on to the manifold, we have done custom bracket for engine mount so it clears for intake air.
We have no plans to change anything with the engine exept Arp/Mls..we have studied pistons and they look forged in my eyes and pretty good buildup..Bmw made rocket engines before and i cant see any diffrent in strenght in this one.
I belive 600hp is a "safe zone" on a stock motor like this...but i really dont know...time will tell
We will use dual walbrofuelpumps 255lp/h and a Aeromotive fuelregulator, AN8 to fuelrail and AN6 back to tank, this is optimal for the M3 when using original fueltank.
u can send some pictures at
