Hello. Lot of nice Turbo projects here in PPF and I thought to write one of mine. I started looking for a new drift car project after selling my old E30 Turbo drift car and founded an unfinished E34 project with M30B34 engine and bought it in spring 2010.
I had it running in fall 2010 giving:
550hp/850Nm @ 1.7Bar
402m : 12.3s@203km/h (Street Tires)
Small video with the M30 engine:

- Dewils Own water injection.
- AN 10/6 Fuel lines.
- PPF support griddle.
- 4.5" Downpipe /3.5" to the back.
- E85 Fuel

Engine management:
- Autotune (MSQ3) Full segvential.
- Vag Cop units.
- Solenoid Boost Control.

When installing the PPF griddle i had to make some room for the oil pump sprocket. Did i do something wrong?

Sure this is the correct sprocet for S38? If so the M30B35 sprocket is smaller i guess..

In fact the pump i used is from M30B34 because its the same as in S38B36, only the sprocket is diffrent and that is what i changed from S38.

Had the car running and dyno tuned.
Results(Whp):
628Hp/678Nm@1.0Bar
710Hp/779Nm@1.35Bar

The injector Duty cyckles started to be around 100% so couldnt use bigger pressure. The fuel pressures were fine and didn´t drop, so i guess the Bosch 1700cc limits were reachd?

There was a false in the MS3 tuning program showing the Duty Cykles wrong. The reality was 87% in 1.5Bar, but still thinking to change bigger ones (2200cc?). Litle wet surface burning before going to rest for winter: :)

Hello.
Litle update here too. The car is running great now and have had fun with it driving some drifting and others. Also few problems counterd:
Changed the wasted spark system to a Vag Cop units lasth mont for better spark. Also had some tuning issues with the partial throtle (going rich) compared to WOT. We had to include the tps/rpm map in the side of map based tuning so now its combined tables for fuel amount. Running now 1,65Bar of boost giving about 900hp.

Hello.
Some updates here also.

Summer 2013 ended with a broken gearbox. The 280 Getrag couldn't handle any more. For a replacement, came the GS6-53BZ from a E92 M3 -09. This 6-speed gearbox should be wery strong for what i have heard. Had some problems first with the weldings of the bell housing, but then decided not to mess around and made it strong enough.
Gearbox:

Winter 2014 came and just litle modifications to the car.
Changed the suspension to BC Racing BR (front springs 18Kg & Rear 14Kg):
Image

Fixt up the rear axle with strongflex bushings and welded the camber/toe adjustin sprackets.
Image

Also changed the oil radiator to a new setrab and placed it behind the kindeys and some of the hoses were also changed to make the engine bay look smoother.
Not so much driving happened in 2014 summer because of the gearbox problems but finally got it on the track. Also went for work a couple of weeks with it :)
Video from summer 2014:

Botniaring:

Winter 2015:
Thinking of changin to a Garrett GTX 4202R turbo. Any comments on this?
The oem clutch releaser should be changed to a tilton hydraulic release bearing.
Some minor mods also coming, V8 kidneys, more steerin angle etc..
