Z3 M coupe differential and halfshafts limitations
Hello from Australia, My name is Alex.
I'm wondering if anyone has tested the limitations of the Z3 M coupe differential and halfshafts in Sweden.
I considering using Z3 M coupe trailing arms, diff and halfshafts for the 5 stud conversion for my E30 but I am more concerned how much power/torque they can handle.
I realise the popular thing over seems to be E28 M535i conversion, but I am keen to know if anyone has had any success with the Z3 Mcoupe parts in either drag racing or circuit cars.
I've tried searching through the forum for answers while trying to translate it to english, but haven't had too much success.
Any help is appreciated,
Cheers, Alex.

I think M3Jonas is using z3m components on his e30 M3. I suggest you drop him a PM.
Good luck.
Thankyou for the reply, I have sent him a PM. I apologise I can't speak swedish.
Theres alot of awsome cars in the Project part of this forum, I wish I could understand half of it.
Can anybody else help me?
Cheers, Alex.

Here's a draft from http://www.pure-pf.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1895
Engine housing: M20B25
"Decked", o-ringed, "stressdrilled" 84.50 mm, brand new forged crankshaft - balanced to perfection, oil nozzles cools forged CP pistons, 135mm Auto Verdi piston rods, PPF bottom support, ARP bolts/studs everywhere, PPF 75mm BOV, PPF ex. manifold, 60mm PPF wastegate, PT76GTS turbocharger, 895cc injectors, Autronic SM4 ECU, MSD DIS4 CDI ignition with MSD coils, etc.
Cylinder head is OEM M20B25, extremely ported with filled/welded canals, inlet pipes built upon a new flange and match ported to a canal angle of 35 degrees. Camshaft will be a Enem Z58 turbo and the rest of the head will be filled with PPF goodies like valve springs, race valves, retainers and cam sprocket wheel. Valves seats Mira-milled.
Usually one also use fuelcell with AN8/10-connections, Bosch 984 fuel pump (perhaps Wahlbro, too), catch tank, 3" exhaust, 524td oilpump?, custom output shafts, Sachs clutch, sinter lamella, ZF-gearbox from 328/M3 - Getrag 260/262/265/280, Accufab 70/80mm damper, Spal fans, coated exhaust house/downpipe, MLS head gasket (instead of o-ringed+OEM gasket)
Yeye, now I'm tired.

That I can believe! GREAT work! Now I know a lot more than before! Would it be possible, to later tell you some specified questions? May be par PM or so?
Many, many thanks
Marc
Sure, but I'm better in english than turbo conversions.
Profitable for everyone I would prefer question questioned in this thread instead of PM.

I like to turbocharge an m20b25. When I try to read/understand the project car post with its engine mod descriptions, I have bad cards, because I understand nearly nothing. What are the used pistons, (modified orig? aftermarket pieces? I don't know) which turbocharger should be used, which turbomanifold is recommended, and so on... I think the Diesel Crank should be the best, because she's forged...
I like to build an engine with at least 500 hp (hk) at the wheels, but what does I have to do, to reach this goal? Can you translate me some of the interesting posts from swedish to english or german? Especially the engine descriptions.
Thank you very much
Marc

Both Andreas A and Andreas B (founders and owners of PPF) are fluent in English so don't hesitate to drop them a PM or two either. Another way is, like somone said, to post your questions in this thread, I'm sure they'll be answered after a little while.
Good luck!
Which are having a vacation at the moment...
