Wasn't satisfied of the rear seat area design I made earlier, so I made it again and it became much better I think. Looks a bit more orginal and more simple:
Some slot to be welded:

Also got shock towers and half of the inner wheel archs done:

Not much happened this summer, but today I continued with the rollcage.. Also rear shock towers are finished.
Fitting the pipes:
Dropped the cage for welding:

More coming soon, keep in touch!

Thanks!
What do you think of my weldings? Not much experience, but I think it's good enough:
Decided to put a pair of extra pipes to the cage:
Next week should be more productive, I dream of finishing the rollcage, we'll see

Also bought a nice differential and propeller shaft, which are durable enough, at least I hope so..

Next step is to fit the engine and drivetrain, also need to do some sheetmetal work to the front end.

Yeah of course, first I'd like to race it a few times, but after that
Today I made the first version of engine mounts, I also attached gearbox behind the engine with a few bolts to be sure it fits. I had to shorten oilpan's sump a little bit to get whole package in a good position.
Engine in it's place:

http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x281 ... 018f3b.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Earlier this week me and my friend fixed the engine mount attachments from the block with a special welding stick, wasn't the easiest thing to weld:

Tim: Thank you, your M-Tech2 looks pretty sweet also!
Ran out of argon this week so I've done some sheetmetal work to the rear end with MAG.
Cut:
Paste:

Should be roomy enough, wheel shouldn't ever reach that point when the shock absorber is mounted.

Drivetrain almost acquired, only need to find suitable output shafts and of course there's a little bit of fitting.
TYP230 differential, 3.62 ratio:

E60 M5 driveshaft compared to E30 320i driveshaft:
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x281 ... 4bb579.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Did a place for the fuel cell:
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x281 ... 3bc97f.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Also front inner wheel arcs almost done:

Long time no see, time for a little update.
I've been working with the front end for a couple of days and this is what it looks like:
Route for
engine bay hot air exit marked with the red arrows:
From the other side, you can see the mounting points for removable strut brace.
Then the rear axle needs a little work too...
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x281 ... 13a945.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I've ordered a water-to-air intercooler kit, the intercooler will sit right in front of the engine and the radiator in the trunk.
Picture of the kit, except I chose a bigger intercooler 400x310x115mm:
Added a few pictures earlier of my 3D works to Facebook page:

Today's quick update:
Made this removable strut brace from 30mm pipe and it's fastened with four M12 bolts. Didn't weld it completely yet if I have to modify it later, hope not.
Griffin radiator 26x19" to keep temperatures normal:

Hello folks, got some new pictures of the project and it will soon look like a car I think

Lot's of sheet metal work done and the hardest part might be over now.
Fitted outer fenders:
Welded some sheet metal:
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x281 ... 43cb17.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Here's the engine bay ventilation solution:
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x281 ... cdf183.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Almost done:
Water-to-air intercooler set also came one day:
This is where I'll put the intercooler:
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x281 ... 957785.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
And the IC radiator goes down there:
http://i187.photobucket.com/albums/x281 ... a91685.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
That's all for this time, I'll try to keep the same rate through the winter despite of cold weather

Doesn't anybody have anything to say? Även på svenska om det är svårt på engelska

Nice as always
Will you use overfenders or something other in mind?
