E34 M50B25

Post by viking325i »

Sorry for being in english guys :( If someone could point me to a good online translator that'd be great :)

Anyway, I have a E34 M50B25, reads around 190-200psi compression across all the cylinders, so seems in good order.

How much can I boost this engine on stock internals? I'd like around 500rwhp.

Is that obtainable with just a thicker head gasket, new studs, bigger injectors, standalone ECU and lots of boost?

With a MLS gasket, ARP bolts, aftermarket ECU it sould be possible. But how long the engine will survive, dunno.

Would some low compression pistons improve its reliability by alot?? Is there anything else I'd need to replace on the bottom end?

Will the stock rods not hold up to the task?

So more or less I am looking at

New Rods
Low Compression Pistons
Head Studs
Bigger Injectors
Link Plus ECU

They should be double valve springs as stock. Will I need to swap out the valves or cams, or should I be able to hit my power goal with the above?

I had heard that the rods in the non vanos M50 were very soild and able to take alot of abuse?

This guys running more or less a stock M52 and seems to be killing more drivetrain parts than engine parts.

What do you guys think?
